Five Sources of Information

As a young man interested in a broad number of topics from sports, finance, fashion, trends, and world news, you can imagine my media intake is inclusive of a lot of different sources. For the sake of this blog I will break it down into five main sources that I believe have kept me up to date and current on what is going on in the particular topics and industries I have taken interest in over time.

For as long as I could remember sports have been a major part of my life, particularly basketball. I grew up playing from a young age and bonding with my father through practicing, watching, and just talking about the game. Naturally from playing the game I became a huge fan wanting to be like certain players and holding on to that childhood dream of making it to the NBA. This meant hours behind the television watching ESPN and NBA television. I can always remember waking up in the mornings to Steven A. Smith updating me on the what was going on in the league whether that be previous games, players, and giving his amusing opinions. As ESPN covers all major sports this sparked my intrest in keeping up with football, baseball, and boxing as well. Over time basketball has just become a hobby that I enjoy watching and playing. I feel like ESPN has kept me up to date where I can hold conversations with people and always know what is going on in the sports world. Visit : https://www.espn.com

Money makes the world go round is what they say. Being wealthy has always been a big dream in my life, but I recently have started to take it seriously.  To accumulate wealth you have to know how money works and know how to make it work for you. So why not surround yourself with people who know how to do it.  From multiple professional growth conferences and internship opportunities I have been able to do just that. Being able to connect and form relationships with people who I hope to be like and possibly proceed in my career I believe is a pinnacle step of my goal.  I would say don't be afraid to put yourself in that uncomfortable position where you are the dumbest person in the room. That is where you will grow the most. Grow and expand your network with people you hope to be like, there will always be opportunities to learn something new that can be applied to what you want to accomplish. I would say my source would be my network, build a strong one and you should be good to go.

I am a firm believer in look good feel good. Being able to express yourself outwardly concerning clothing and shoes has always been fun to me for some reason and honestly is a confidence booster. Personally I do not like giving off the same look every single day so this topic includes a couple of platforms. Magazines such as. "GQ" and " Sneakers" are great sources if you are looking to see streetwear fashion and release dates on popular shoes. Social media also plays a big role in this topic. Instagram would be the main platform because it is a picture based; following influencers and celebrities to see what is trending and popular. I would also say trust your gut and put your own personal spin on your outfits. Fashion is a way of expressing yourself so find your style and wear what you think compliments your look. Continuing to stay current on times will only benefit you. Keeping up with trends whether that be in technology, slang, music and other topics can be over whelming in a world when things are constantly changing. I personally like to read the, " Morning Brew".  My father put me onto this news media. It is a blog written for men to catch up on news on a broad number of topics going on in the world. It is free to subscribe to receive a dailey article. The information they put out can be used for conversation starters, knowledge about money, celebrities, technology, and other important news. Other platforms that I like to stay on to keep me up to date  include Twitter and Tik Tok. Two of the most popular social media platforms on the internet right no. If you do not have either or make accounts today. Twitter will always keep you up to date on their news feed and its fun to hear other peoples opinions on what is going on in the world. Tik Tok, basically everyone is on now a days, so you will not miss a beat. Visit: https://www.morningbrew.com/daily

To keep up with world news, and I am not saying I do a good job of this CNN is my main platform. It has always been on in my household growing up so that is what has stuck with me. I believe they do a good job of telling the whole story and focus on good topics. As a person who likes to hear both sides of the media to gain a wholestic veiw of what may be going on occasionally I may flip to Fox News and NBC. Do not section yourself off to one form of media here would be my advice. Look at what is going on from all sides so you can form your own opinion and see what others are talking about.
